1Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
11For wisdom is better than jewels, and all desires shall not compare with her. 12I, wisdom, live with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion. 13The fear of Yahweh is hatred of evil, pride, and arrogance and an evil way. And I hate a mouth of perversity.
9All of them are straight to him who understands, and upright to those who find knowledge. 10Take my teaching and not silver; may you choose knowledge rather than choice gold. 11For wisdom is better than jewels, and all desires shall not compare with her.
10for wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasing to your soul. 11Discretion will watch over you; understanding will protect you, 12in order to deliver you from the way of evil, from a man who speaks devious things—
5may the wise hear and increase learning, and the one who understands gain direction, 6to understand a proverb and an expression, words of wisdom and their riddles. 7Fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; wisdom and instruction, fools despise.
6Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and is a rewarder of those who seek him. 7By faith Noah, having been warned about things not yet seen, out of reverence constructed an ark for the deliverance of his family, by which he pronounced sentence on the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. 8By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to a place that he was going to receive for an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
21if indeed you have heard about him, and you were taught by him (just as truth is in Jesus), 22that you take off, according to your former way of life, the old man, who is being destroyed according to deceitful desires, 23be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
